Chantal is an introverted girl who lives in the suburbs with her very sick mother. When she dies, Chantal fled by bus to Gaspésie to find a landscape that her mother had photographed. There, she has a chance meeting with Serge, a lonely farmer, classical music buff, who agrees that she work for him for some time. The two get used to each other, while Chantal opens herself up to the beauty of nature. Soon Serge’s sister tries to convince him to sell the family land.
